Squad Members Tour New Home

Fri, 2015-01-02 18:07 -- John Staunton

Members of the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad recently took a tour of the construction site on Elm St. to check out the progress of their new headquarters.  While the weather has caused a few delays, work is progressing and the Squad looks forward to moving into their new building this spring.

Board members and officers braved a cold wet morning for their tour of the new ambulance bays, crew ready room and not yet covered upper floor.  Two weeks later the entire membership was invited for a tour that included walls on the upper floor and a partial roof.  This is the largest project in the Squad’s 52 years history and it would not have been possible without the generosity of the Summit community.  Since May, the Squad has been operating from space donated by Chip Duane of the Salerno-Duane auto dealership on Broad St.

The Summit First Aid Squad is funded entirely through private donations and staffed solely by volunteers.  New volunteers are always welcome. All needed training, uniforms and equipment is provided. For information, please call 908-277-9479, or click HERE.
