Linda Wolf, a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician with the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad was honored this week by Overlook Medical Center with the EMS Excellence Award

Linda joined the First Aid Squad in May of 2000, a few months after witnessing a terrible trauma call in town.  After seeing the accident, she wished she knew more of what to do or not do. She joined the Squad received training and became a certified Emergency Medical Technician.

Linda has served on the Board of Trustees for many of her 12 years on the Squad.  She has chaired many committees including the 4th of July picnic and annual dinner to name a few, and served on several others. She also helps every year with our Christmas Tree Sale.  Linda is also active with our 50th Anniversary committee as this year the Squad is celebrating 50 years of Neighbors Helping Neighbors.  Linda is as the Crew Chief of the Friday Day Crew.

Recently Linda answered a call for a woman with heart palpitations and the patient couldn’t stop singing the praises of the crew and how comfortable and at ease they made her.  The patient was so impressed by the professionalism, compassion and quick response of the crew that she wrote a very nice letter to the editor in the local newspaper.

Squad Captain Kari Phair praised Linda’s efforts as well, “Linda is always training with her crew and ensures they know where all the equipment is located in each of our 4 ambulances, and of course, how to use it.  Linda has great leadership and rapport, not only with her crew, but the rest of the Squad”.

Ms. Phair continued, “Linda exemplifies what the Squad strives for in its members. The Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad is honored to have her as a member.”

The award was presented at the Overlook Medical Center EMS Week dinner held to recognize area pre-hospital emergency medical providers.
