The Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad Membership was among 5 recipients of the Good Scout Award presented on April 29 during the Summit Good Scout dinner at the Grand Summit Hotel. The other 4 recipients were indiviiduals:Summit Police Lieutenant Michael Cantone, David Dietze, Rabbi Avi Friedman, and Summit High School Theatre Arts and Forensics Department Director Anne Poyner,
Former Mayor Jordan Glatt presented the award to the First Aid Squad and noted that during his 8 years as Mayor he became quite familiar with the squads mission, capabilities and dedication to the community. He also pointed out that the Scout motto "Be Prepared' was a value also shared by members of the First Aid Squad. Accepting the award on behalf of the First Aid Squad, presidentt Ken Herr thanked the Scouting organization for recognizing the efforts of Summit's many volunteers and also the Summit community for supporting the effort to build a new EMS headquarters which is neraly complete. "I'm sure this award will find a prominent place in our new building" said Mr Herrr.
